Blue Line Studios has announced the release of JewelCaseIllustrator, a new drawing program designed specifically to help you create labels, tray liners and booklets for CDs and DVDs.
The software features a Finder-like directory list that is typeset simply by dropping a volume onto one of the applications’ prefab layout windows, according to the developer.
Blue Line Studios president Dan Kueng explained that JewelCaseIllustrator is suitable even for creating professional-looking layouts for data CDs — the software incorporates support for placement of company logos and images.
JewelCaseIllustrator is available as a free trial download that prints 12 pages before expiring. The software costs US$25 to register.
System requirements call for any PowerPC-based Mac, 12MB of available RAM, and System 7 through Mac OS 9 (JewelCaseIllustrator also works as a “Classic” application in Mac OS X. Blue Line Studios indicated that a Carbonized version is planned, but not yet available.
