The Boston Final Cut Pro User Group (BOSFCPUG) meets tonight, Tuesday, May 28, 2002.
On this evening’s agenda is special guest Bruce “The DVD Guy” Nazarian, who will talk about DVD authoring. Joining Nazarian is Tim Wilson of Boris FX and Karl Renwanz of Video Transfer. During the intermission a DVD kiosk will be on display, set up by FCP Book authors Charles Roberts and Jeff Warmouth.
Nazarian will show attendees features in DVD Studio Pro 1.5 for Mac OS X, and will demonstrate how Final Cut Pro-edited content can be used in interactive DVDs. Renwanz will focus on what you can do in the field when you’re shooting and producing the better utilize features available through DVD authoring. Wilson will show off how Boris FX software can be used to enhance content aimed at DVDs too.
Also scheduled tonight is the next installment of Ravi Jain’s “Three Abreast” Web comedy series, which was edited in Final Cut Pro 3. Loren Miller will also be on-hand to sell his FCP 3 KeyGuides at a discount for BOSFCPUG members. Donald Berube of Canon USA and reps from The Camera Company will also be on hand to show off CanonDV and the Canon XL1S MiniDV camera.
There’s another “Big Dig Raffle” planned for this meeting — a US$5 donation gets you a chance to win hardware and software ranging from a copy of Photoshop 7.0 to Mac OS X to Contour Design ShuttlePRO multimedia controllers, and much more.
