Dantz Development Corp. announced today that it has certified Maxtor’s MaxAttach Network Attached Storage (NAS) servers to work with Dantz’ popular Retrospect backup software.
Although the MaxAttach servers themselves are based on Microsoft Corp’s own Windows 2000 Server Appliance Kit operating system, they can coexist on heterogenous networks and provide storage access to Macs as well as PCs. What’s more, Dantz said that MaxAttach servers can be backed up to either Macs or PC backup servers running Retrospect.
Dantz vice president of marketing Tony Barbagallo explained that NAS backup is increasingly important to his company’s user base. “The MaxAttach-Retrospect solution delivers a powerful data protection platform for small and mid-sized enterprises,” said Barbagallo.
