The 17th annual MacHack gathering is coming to Dearborn, Mi. in June. MacHack’s coordinators announced today the latest addition to the event’s roster of conference speakers. This year, Rob “CmdrTaco” Malda is going to speak. Malda is the founder of infamous “News for Nerds” Web site Slashdot.
“In this rare public appearance, he’ll join MacHack’s crowd of developers for a lively discussion that will range from his adventures building the online community that Slashdot has become to open source issues and where ever else the freeform gathering might lead,” said MacHack’s coordinators.
Malda’s accomplishments range from computer programming to nuclear physics, and he also helped to found Perl Monks, a site dedicated to helping people solve problems with the Perl scripting language.
Conference registration costs US$525, and includes access to all events, three meals, and the conference banquet. More details are available from the Web site.
