The User Group Advisory Board wants to make it easier for student leaders of MUGs (Macintosh User Groups) to attend User Group University (a one-day conference for Apple user group leaders.), learn from the presentations, and become involved in the community. The board is a group of leaders who run successful user groups in their communities and who are chartered with providing feedback and advice on issues related to the Apple User Group Program.
Students in MUG leadership positions who would like complete information and a special student offer should contact UGAB member and campus MUG leader David Roemer, according to Chuck Joiner, editor-in-chief of The MUG Center, an online resource for Mac users groups.
User Group University will be held on July 16, at The New Yorker Hotel, the day before the Macworld New York show floor opens. It’s open to user group leaders ambassadors, and enthusiasts. You can register by June 1 and enjoy an early bird rate. Details are at The MUG Center Web site.
Also, the sponsors of the upcoming User Group University in New York have been announced. They include: Adobe, Apple, Corel, Macworld magazine, Microsoft, Small Dog, Exabyte, Hemera Technologies, MacAddict magazine, Power On Software, Bare Bones Software and O’Reilly & Associates.
