Mac users are out of luck if they want to watch the video highlights from the World Cup games. Users of the operating system have been locked out of a service on FIFA’s official World Cup site that, for $US19.95, will provide video highlights from the games, according to a Sydney Morning Herald article.
The four-minute long highlights are part of the site’s premium subscription service. Stated system requirements for the premium service read: “Mac, Unix and Real media player are not supported.”
This “effectively locks out a legion of fans,” many of whom have expressed disappointment over FIFA’s decision not to provide live feeds of matches, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. Technology for the site is being provided by Yahoo, the story adds.
