Hey, musicians. The Sony Oxford EQs for TC Works’ PowerCore are now available for purchase. PowerCore is the open DSP hardware platform for any VST and MAS recording application on the Mac and Wintel platforms.
Following the success of the high-precision Sony Oxford EQ plug-ins for the Digidesign Pro Tools platform, the demand for a VST and MAS compatible version has been met with this PowerCore release, according to Rod Densham of Sony Oxford. The plug-in achieves the same performance as the version for Pro Tools or the OXF-R3 “Oxford” console, he added.
The Sony Oxford EQs offer five band parametric design; selectable shelf settings on LF and HF sections; LF and HF Filters providing up to 36dB/Octave slope; four selectable EQ types; support for sample rates up to and including 96kHz; and are fully automatable (including separate automation for A and B settings). They include six plug-ins (mono and stereo versions of EQ, filters, and EQ and filters).
System requirements are any compatible TC Works-approved Mac or Windows hardware configuration; a VST or MAS compliant host application; and one or more TC Works PowerCore cards with driver version 1.6 or higher.
Featuring identical algorithms to the R3 console and the OXF-R3 plug-in for ProTools, the plug-ins cost US$490. However, you can buy ’em at a $70 discount through the end of the month. Also, a one-week demo version will be available beginning June 14.
