Archos Technology, which designs and manufactures peripherals for notebook and desktop computers, has released the 20GB MiniHD, an ultra-slim portable hard drive, that can be slipped into a shirt pocket. The drive is compatible with any USB-equipped Mac, representatives from Archos told MacCentral.
It’s slightly larger than a deck of cards, measuring 4.7 x 3 inches by only 1/2-inch thick and weighs just 6.5 ounces. The Archos MiniHD doesn’t need an external power source as it can be powered directly by any notebook or desktop computer.
The MiniHD, which has a manufacturers suggested retail price of US$199.95, comes packaged with an interface cable (USB or USB 2.0; Mac users will want the former), a manual (in five languages), and a CD containing a driver.
