Mailsmith, Bare Bones Software’s e-mail client for Mac OS 9.x and Mac OS X, has been updated to version 1.5.3, now incorporating interface refinements, new features and fixes for various bugs.
The update introduces the ability to locate messages rapidly, based on their relevance to specified words or phrases. This content searching can locate relevant messages in a matter of seconds, even for large mail stores, according to the folks at Bare Bones.
Version 1.5.3 adds the ability to quickly create a new outgoing message with attachments by dropping the files (or folders) to be attached onto Mailsmith’s application icon. You can now add a new “(any address)” term to Mailsmith’s advanced query capability. Mailsmith also now sports the ability to transform displayed messages for easier reading. And there’s improved notification of new mail arrival via the Dock on Mac OS X.
Registered users may update free of charge by downloading the update package available from the Bare Bones Software Web site. For others, Mailsmith 1.5.3 has a suggested retail price of US$99.
