If you’re fond of placing bets on horse racing, your Mac can help you now, thanks to Cynthia Publishing Co.’s recently released Fast Capper for Mac, Linux and Windows.
Fast Capper is a thoroughbred horseracing handicapping program that includes par times and the average track variants for just about every racetrack in North America, according to the publisher. Users can enter race information manually or download it from a subscription-based Internet service. Output includes Speed/Pace Summary, which provides you with an indication of how fast each horse should run at each stage of the race, and a Betting Line, which provides you with a convenient way of measuring the risk-reward ratio of each horse’s odds.
Cynthia Publishing sells Fast Capper direct for US$100. System requirements call for a PowerPC-based Mac with 64MB RAM and Mac OS 8.5 or higher. The Mac OS X installation uses Java, and runs natively without the need for Classic.
