Since Apple’s release last week of Mac OS X 10.1.5, gamers have noticed a problem with the Carbonized version of Blizzard Entertainment’s StarCraft. Reports indicate that the game will freeze when launched. Blizzard has now posted a workaround that will fix the problem.
Blizzard’s tech support noted that the problem affects both StarCraft and the Carbon version of Brood War, the StarCraft expansion pack. The company requests that users who have problems getting the game to run should disable StarCraft’s Startup Options screen.
To do so, launch the application and click the “Don’t Show Again” option in the Startup Options screen. Click on the OK button.
The game will crash that time, but the next time you start StarCraft, the game will run.
