Last week MacCentral brought readers news that Aspyr Media and Westlake Interactive had finished up work on The Sims Hot Date. Today Aspyr announced it’s shipping the title.
The Sims Hot Date is the latest expansion pack for Aspyr’s Mac conversion of the phenomenally successful simulated life game. Licensed from PC publisher Electronic Arts and created by Sim City developer Will Wright, The Sims puts you in control of simulated humans who live, work and interact with each other inside your Mac.
The Sims Hot Date brings some major new enhancements to the original game, including a new downtown area complete with shops, clubs and romantic nooks where your Sims can buy products, dine or spend time with one another. The Sims Hot Date also expands the number of interactions your Sims can make, and adds more than 100 new items that your Sims can buy.
With the announcement that the game is shipping, folks who pre-ordered the game directly from Aspyr should look for their orders to arrive on their doorsteps in the next several days. You should also be able to find the game expansion pack on store shelves very soon, as well.
The Sims Hot Date requires the original The Sims game to play. It runs on Mac OS 8.6 or later (including natively in Mac OS X, using the latest update available for download from Aspyr’s Web site). It costs US$29.95.
