Subband Software has announced the release of
MacAmp Lite X 1.1.0, a new version of its shareware digital music player for the Mac.
The developer said that MacAmp Lite uses less CPU cycles than other audio apps and saves on screen space as well by using a compact player window that floats above other applications. Plug-ins enhance the product’s features, as well, with support for broadcast and voiceover capabilities. MacAmp Lite X also supports more than 200 “skins” which provide a custom look for the software.
The free update to MacAmp Lite X adds new features and fixes bugs, according to Subband.
New features of MacAmp Lite X 1.1.0 include:
Automagic CD Loading
New Analyzer Plugins! Small visuals for MaltX, including VU meters, and Menu Bar meters!
Newly adjustable net and disk caches
Aiff Carbon Copy! Make an AIFF copy of any audio played through MaltX.
Transparent Internet Version Checking System
Improved Streaming Support
Unicode ID3 support
Other changes have been made as well. For more details, visit the MacAmp Lite X Web site. You can also download a free trial version that’s fully enabled for two weeks. Registration is US$12 for the basic MacAmp Lite, and $10 more for the Plug-ins Power Pack.
