Bare Bones Software has updated Super Get Info, the file and folder info utility for Mac OS X, to version 1.0.8.
Super Get Info is designed to serve as a replacement for the “Show Info” command of the Mac OS X Finder. According to Rich Siegel, the founder, president and CEO of Bare Bones, Super Get Info lets you:
View and edit the Mac OS type and creator codes for a given file;
View and edit the Unix owner, group and permission settings for files and folders;
Modify a file’s creation and modification dates;
Copy a file’s full path name, via the Clipboard, as well as with drag & drop;
Open one information window for each selected Finder item, so that multiple selected items can be viewed and edited.
Super Get Info now supports viewing and editing of Finder comments, and also offers the ability to copy and paste file and folder icons, allowing the easy application of custom icons. The 1.0.8 update also incorporates various other minor enhancements, as well as fixes for reported issues.
Super Get Info costs US$20. A fully functional demo version, which expires after 14 days, is available for download from
Bare Bones Software’s Web site. All registered users of Super Get Info may upgrade free of charge to version 1.0.8 by
downloading an update package.
