Toshiba America Business Solutions (TABS) has introduced the e-STUDIO16P monochrome, digital laser printer that’s designed for personal use and small-to-mid-sized workgroups.
The US$399 e-STUDIO16P has a 16 pages-per-minute printing speed, first-copy-out-time of less than 12 seconds and a 133MHz processor. Available standard with 8MB of RAM memory, the e-STUDIO16P is expandable to 72MB. There’s a standard, built-in 150-sheet tray, with an optional a 250-sheet tray available.
Featuring true 600 x 600 dpi, the e-STUDIO16P employs Print-Enhancement Technology to create a smoother, clearer image, according to Stephen Rhorer, director, Product Marketing, TABS. The use of Print-Enhancement Technology results in image quality equivalent to 1200 dpi, he added.
The e-STUDIO16P offers a low-toner indicator and toner-saver mode. In addition, there’s an operator panel, single-element toner cartridge, and drop-in paper-loading cartridge. Featuring a duty cycle of 15,000 pages-per-month, the e-STUDIO16P comes standard with a 3,000-page yield starter cartridge and features an available 6,000-page high-yield replacement cartridge.
The printer comes standard with letter and legal-sized paper handling and accommodates a variety of media types including plain paper, letterhead, envelopes, cardstock and transparencies. PostScriptLevel 2 and PCL6 emulation, and parallel printing and USB support also come standard for added connectivity options to personal computers. The e-STUDIO16P is compatible with “major network operating systems,” including Mac OS 8.6 “or higher.”
