If you recently purchased a PowerBook, you should take a minute to check the box and make sure Apple shipped an S-video cable with your order.
The company said today in its b-weekly newsletter that there was an error and some PowerBooks were shipped without an S-video cable. “We apologize for the oversight and would like to send an S-video to composite adapter, free of charge, to anyone who didn’t receive one.”
If your PowerBook didn’t come with an S-video cable, Apple has set up a Web page for users to order a free replacement. In order to receive your replacement, you will need to provide Apple with your PowerBook serial number; after your serial number has been verified, Apple will send the cable to you.
There is an online form that will check your serial number to see if you qualify.
