SparkLE and the new SparkLE Plus, the real-time audio editing and authoring applications from professional audio company, TC Works, have been updated to version 2.5.
Both products are based on TC Works’ high-end audio processing application, Spark. They have the same browser view, Project Database access, Wave Editor and the Play List (all found in one window) as their “big brother.”
SparkLE is compatible with both Mac OS X and Mac OS 9. It includes a plug-in bundle featuring a mastering quality audio maximizer, a flexible tempo delay, a one-band EQ with selectable equalization types from Notch to Parametric and a Master window with high resolution metering. SparkLE also provides a real-time VST FX Chain with the ability to load four VST Plug-Ins.
SparkLE Plus offers all the features of SparkLE, plus some extra tools. It boasts full QuickTime support and includes an extra plug-in: the Native PerformanceVerb. TC Works also throws in full MP3 encoding using the original Fraunhofer Codec.
The new versions of both SparkLE Plus and SparkLE sport “greatly enhanced” editing and speedier file navigation, according to TC Works. Projects with multiple audio files now open up to 10 times faster, the company claims. All major audio file formats are supported, from AIFF to WAV and SDII to all available QuickTime codecs. The TC Works’ apps offer sample rates of up to 192kHz with bit depths up to 32bit. The real-time sample rate conversion enables audio playback and editing of such high resolution files without requiring optional professional audio hardware, according to TC Works.
SparkLE and SparkLE Plus can be downloaded from the TC Works Web site. SparkLE costs US$19.95, and SparkLE Plus is $49.95. Registered users of the former SparkLE Version 2.1 can upgrade to the new SparkLE Plus for $19.95. Both products require a Power Mac G3 or G4 running Mac OS X or Mac OS 9.x.
