With Apple having revved its PowerBook line recently and Macworld New York looming, AIS Computers in Atlanta, GA, has sliced the prices on its stock of PowerBook 667MHz systems.
The company is offering its remaining stock of PowerBook G4/667 systems (with 512MB of RAM, a 30GB hard drive, Gigabit Ethernet, and an Airport card installed) for US$2399 to MacCentral readers. If a customer doesn’t want an Airport card, AIS will give you the full $99 credit for the Airport card, bringing the price down to $2,300, according to Jeff Johnson, manager of preowned sales at AIS.
In April Apple revamped its professional notebook line. The standard configurations now include: in two standard configurations. The $2,499 PowerBook G4/667MHz, 256MB SDRAM; 30GB Ultra ATA/66 hard drive; but no AirPort card). The $3,199 PowerBook 800MHz, 512MB SDRAM; 40GB Ultra ATA/66 hard drive; and built-in AirPort Card with integrated antennas.
