Big Nerd Ranch, which provides intensive training for developers of all levels in a mountain lodge outside Asheville, NC, and AppleStudentDevelopers.org — a Web site for students that supports a developer community atmosphere through web forums, tutorials, project discussion areas and a showcase gallery that are all focused toward Mac OS X — are extending their Summer Student Promotion to include the week of Aug. 12-16.
Due to student requests, eight promotional seats have been reserved for the August session of Big Nerd Ranch Cocoa training, according to Big Nerd spokesperson Emily Herman. Aaron Hillegass, author of Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X, is the Big Nerd Ranch Cocoa instructor. Any student with a valid student id may sign up for class at a discounted price of US$1,500 per person (compared to the normal price of US$3,500).
Participants in the Summer Student Promotion have to supply their own computers for class and will be paired with another student to share a room. The class fee includes room, meals, 24-hour lab access and transportation to and from the Asheville airport. For more information about the Summer Student Promotion, go to the Web site.
