Seattle, Wa.-based Streambox Inc. today released Streambox ACTION. It’s a video compression application that compresses video into QuickTime format. It comes bundled with Streambox’s ACT-L2 code and supports all QuickTime codecs, too.
Streambox CEO Bob Hildeman noted that the software was born of his own company’s necessity, when they needed a versatile and efficient tool to compress video. “Finally, we decided to bundle the application with Streambox ACT-L2 as to increase the market penetration of our flagship Codec. The value for the customer is unmistaken: a better compression tool that comes with the best QuickTime Codec, and all for a lower price than competition,” said Hildeman.
Streambox ACTION supports AVI, DV and QuickTime input files. It also sports file merging and efficient video compression, according to the developer, along with features like de-interlacing, resizing, and support for various filters.
Cross platform, Streambox ACTION supports Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. It can be purchased directly from Streambox for US$199.
