today announced that its Flash Player 6 software has been downloaded more than 200 million times since its release. The company calls the public adoption of the new Flash player “unprecedented” and said it’s the fastest adoption of any new version of Flash.
“The community is really embracing this product and creating powerful examples that are more usable and accessible than ever before,” said Macromedia executive vice president Dominic Gallello.
July brings the
Flashforward 2002 New York
event, where Macromedia executives Kevin Lynch and Jeremy Allaire will keynote the event, showcasing new technologies for Macromedia Flash developers and will show some examples of how the technology is already being used.
Macromedia’s Flash MX software is the newest development platform, and the company said that Flash MX simplifies the visual authoring process for traditional Web developers who want to deliver rich content for their applications. Macromedia counts more than one million designers who are already using Flash in their products.
