Orange Micro has released an updated driver for its FireWire iBOT Web cam that enables the device to work with recent versions of Mac OS X.
The FireWire iBOT is an eye-shaped Web cam that utilizes IEEE 1394, or FireWire, to connect to the Mac. Orange Micro indicates that the camera can capture up to 30 frames per second of 640×480 pixel video. The device originally shipped with Mac OS 9 drivers and trial versions of various applications for video editing and video conferencing.
The new 1.0.1 driver is available for download from the Orange Micro Web site. System requirements call for a FireWire equipped Mac running Mac OS X 10.1 or higher.
