Sunburst Technology has released several new Mac compatible programs at this week’s National Educational Computing Conference (NECC) in San Antonio, TX.
One is a sequel to its award-winning Math Arena software for schools. In Math Arena Advanced, middle and high school students build pre-algebra and algebra skills as they train and compete against classmates in 20 different math activities. It will be available later this month in a Mac-Windows CD (compatible with the traditional Mac operating system). The suggested retail price is US$99.95.
Sunburst also announced an all-new software series for schools that’s designed to build fundamental math skills. Aligned to National Council of Teachers of Mathematics standards, Math Essentials is built to help students in grades 2-6 master core math skills by reinforcing addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. The first two titles in the series are shipping now on a hybrid Mac-Windows CD-ROM. The suggested retail price for a single edition of either Math Essentials title is $89.95. User licenses for 10 users, and district licenses, are also available. A network version is in the works.
Also available on a hybrid CD-ROM are three new additions to Sunburst’s Learn About Science series: Learn About Life Science: the Human Body; Learn About Life Science: Animals; and Learn About Life Science: Dinosaurs. Targeted to K-2 students and aligned to National Science Teachers Association standards, the titles are designed as units of instruction to supplement teachers’ classroom lessons. The suggested retail price for a single edition of each title is $89.95. Sunburst is also offering a “10 for one” special, so schools can get 10 copies of the software for the same price as a single edition. Site licenses are also available and a network version is slated for a fall release.
