Popular Mac game conversion company Westlake Interactive has a new secret project up its sleeve, according to the latest update on its Project Status Web page.
The company now lists “The Chosen One” as its latest effort, and said that it’s in early development. Westlake also revealed that the game would be available both for Classic Mac OS and Mac OS X, although it hasn’t yet identified the publisher. “The Chosen One” joins two other as-yet-unrevealed projects to Westlake’s current roster of games in development: “Track One” and “V.A.S.T.”
Westlake defines “early development” as “A project that has just started. Early work is being done on getting low level foundation code up and running on the Mac, trying to get data files to load properly, graphics routines to draw something, etc.”
Westlake uses the Project Status Page to update visitors to its Web site of projects that the company is working on. The Project Status page provides information about products that Westlake’s publishing partners have already announced — Aspyr Media’s forthcoming release of Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is listed, for example. But Westlake also uses the Web page as a way of teasing the public about products that it’s developing which haven’t yet been announced by their respective publishers, as well.
