InCopy has been developed for writers, editors and copyfitters at magazines and newspapers. The software features support for XML, built-in dynamic spell-check, integrated thesaurus and table creation control. Interface enhancements include fast font substitution and the ability to work on multiple views simultaneously. InCopy also features a plug-in architecture that makes it possible to enhance the software’s capabilities with new features created by third-party developers.
Because InCopy integrates with InDesign, the software makes it possible for users to simultaneously view a galley and a layout, enabling writers to accurately view InDesign line breaks while still being able to edit copy in full text mode.
System requirements for InCopy 2.0 call for a G3/300MHz or faster; Mac OS 9.2 or higher, including Mac OS 10.1 or later; 64MB RAM; 120MB hard drive; CD-ROM drive; 832×624 resolution.
InCopy 2.0 is available to system integrators as part of an integrated solution with InDesign. The software is only available through integrators, who determine pricing depending on the installation.
