Hitachi America Ltd. today announced the CML152, a new 15-inch flat panel monitor. The company said that the new display is intended for “quality-conscious” home or business users looking for a more portable desktop display.

The CML152 weighs 6.6 lbs and sports a 350:1 contrast and 250 nit brightness. It’s available in either ivory or black chassis colors. The display sports an analog D-sub 15-pin connector, so it’ll hook up to any Mac equipped with a VGA connector.
The new display features a full 15-inch viewing area, according to Hitachi, and operates at a native resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels at 75 or 60Hz, with a pixel pitch of .297 mm.
Hitachi noted that the CML152 complies with the VESA FPMPMI standard, making the unit wall-mountable with compliant third-party mounting arms. It also comes equipped with a Kensington Security Port.
The CML152 will be available in ivory for US$449 and in black for $459. The new display is expected to hit distributors early next month.
