Logitech, the folks who make mice and trackballs, is tweaking its optical trackball line. Their Cordless Optical TrackMan, due late next month for a list price of US$69.95, is the first finger operated trackball that features both optical and cordless technology, according to Logitech.
The product offers new navigation features in a finger-operated, right-handed design, with special drag-lock functions to move text and images. The Cordless Optical TrackMan also introduces Cruise Control scrolling, which lets you scroll through Web pages and documents by just depressing a button. How? Via thumb-operated forward and back buttons, which can be programmed to the user’s preference.
The Cordless Optical TrackMan has a metallic silver surface that’s highlighted with a black soft-touch paint. It connects via USB and is compatible with Mac OS 8.6 or later operating systems, including Mac OS X.
