TestOut Corp., a provider of simulation-based training and testing to IT professionals seeking network certifications, has released the Network+ Certification Suite. The suite is a Mac OS X compatible simulation-based training suite for The Computing Technology Industry Association’s (CompTIA) updated Network+ certification.
The Network+ Certification Suite is built upon TestOut’s intelligent simulation technology. Simulations are the foundation for the Company’s experience-based training approach that provides learners with a “hands-on” environment in which to practice and master skills not possible with traditional learning methods, according to Noel Vallejo, president of TestOut. The company’s CourseSim delivers multimedia training for each of the updated Network+ exam objectives including: wireless topologies; protocols and standards; and network implementation.
The training curriculum houses audio and video clips, and delivers simulations designed to illustrate difficult concepts to help learners grasp concepts, Vallejo said. Once concepts have been introduced, skills can be developed and additional experience gained with TestOut’s LabSim product, he added. These simulations allow learners to work in a “true-to-life” networking environment and offer a way for them to apply what they’ve learned and to learn critical troubleshooting skills “without the threat of disabling a live network, Vallejo said.
When they think they’re ready, learners can evaluate their readiness for the certification exam with TestOut’s ExamSim test preparation tool. ExamSim features a test interface that simulates the actual networking “test” environment on the learner’s workstation. This offers students a chance to practice with a simulated test that looks like the real thing and gives the learner feedback on incorrect responses.
