XLR8 today announced the release of InterView 2.1, the latest version of its video capture package. The new version is fully optimized for Apple’s release of QuickTime 6 Public Preview, according to XLR8, and works will the new QuickTime 6 Broadcaster software as well.
InterView is a USB-based video capture product that works with both S-Video and composite video-equipped devices.
This delivers the capability to produce pro-quality MPEG-4 streaming even in low-bandwidth situations, according to XLR8. “This new upgrade expands the quality and capabilities for it to become the defacto standard for all mainstream video over the internet,” said XLR8 president Jack Kolk.
The upgrade includes a QuickTime Pro 5 key which enables users to edit using QuickTime Player, along with a variety of export and video conversion functions — normally a $30 purchase directly from Apple. The software also provides a drag and drop AppleScript-based application which converts captured analog video to DV format for use in iMovie.
InterView 2.1 is a free upgrade for all owners of InterView 2.0 with OS X support, available via an online download. InterView 1.0 and 2.0 (previous to OS X support) users can upgrade for US$24.95. The full version costs $89.95
