The folks at Automatic Duck are shipping Automatic Composition Import DV, which is designed to streamline the import/export process between Avid Xpress DV 3.5 for the Mac and Adobe After Effects.
Xpress DV 3.5 was released last Thursday. It’s software-based video editing solution that now runs on the Mac for the first time. See our June 27 article for details.
Based on the Automatic Composition Import software, Automatic Composition Import DV gives users of Avid Xpress DV the power to export and import timelines between their editing system and After Effects. Specifically designed to operate with Avid Xpress DV 3.5 for Mac OS X, it translates an entire Avid timeline into Adobe After Effects, “eliminating the previously time-consuming and painstaking manual translation process,” according to Wes Plate, president of Automatic Duck.
In one step, Automatic Composition Import DV transfers an entire Avid Xpress DV timeline into Adobe After Effects, including all media necessary to recreate your project. Supported effects are automatically translated, Plate said.
Automatic Composition Import DV for Macintosh has a manufacturers suggested retail price of US$295. Educational discounts are available for qualified students and institutions.
