Contour Design, the ergonomic peripheral company behind such Mac compatible products as the ShuttlePRO and UniMouse, has a spin-off company that’s now open for business. Contour A/V Solutions is a privately held company that will focus on the design and development of multimedia editing devices such as the aforementioned ShuttlePRO Multimedia Jog & Shuttle controller.
The ShuttlePRO Multimedia Controller has been developed to provide users with a shuttle-and-jog controller for applications like Final Cut Pro, iMovie, QuickTime and others. It provides analog editing-style control to digital video and audio editing applications.
The device incorporates 13 programmable buttons and a rubberized shuttle ring. It sports the ability to define specific settings for applications. Compatible with Mac OS 8.6 or later (including, obviously, Mac OS X), the ShuttlePRO Multimedia Controller incorporates a USB interface. It measures 7.75 by 4.25 by 1.25 inches and sells for US$125.
“Our emergence as a separate, privately held company is due in part to the tremendous opportunities we see in the audio, video and medical marketplaces,” said Rick Muldoon, president and CEO of the new spin-off company. “Contour A/V Solutions is committed to the design, development, and manufacturing of high-quality multimedia input devices for the audio, video, and medical industries.”
The mother company, Contour Design, will continue to focus on its current line of products that include the Perfit Mouse, UniRiser, UniTray, UniTrap, MiniPRO, G-Riser, G-Rack, and more.
