Cyber3, the folks who make, among other things, handles for the Titanium PowerBook and 12-inch iBook, are releasing new ScreenGuard products today.
There are ScreenGuards for the PowerBook and iBook (both 12- and 14-inch) models. ScreenGuards are soft leather screen protectors that lay on the keypad before the lid closes to protect the screen from indentations when there’s too much pressure placed on the outer lid when it’s closed. The retail prices are US$12.25 for the iBook models (both screen sizes) and $17.25 for the PowerBook.
For the new flat panel iMacs, Cyber3 has a white cover made out of 100 percent nylon that can be washed. It has little “pull ears” and just slips over the flat panel to protect it from dust and dirt, when the iMac isn’t being used, Peter Lock of Cyber3 told MacCentral. It’s white and costs $24.95.
Finally, for the Apple displays, Cyber3 is offering both a grey and a black cover made out of 100 percent nylon and which slip over the flat panel to protect it when it’s not being used. These ScreenGuards are available for the 15-, 17- and 22-inch displays for $24.95, $27.97 and $34.95 respectively.
Also, for those lusting after a handle for their 14-inch iBooks, be patient. The handle for the new 14-inch consumer portable is in the final stages of testing, Lock said.
