Planning on taking a trip to New York to attend Macworld Expo later this month? Apple today offered details about its first New York City store opening, in the trendy and fashionable SoHo neighborhood — home to many art galleries, boutiques and other shops. Apple’s newest retail store will open on Thursday, July 18th — the same week that Macworld Expo is in town — virtually guaranteeing that a huge crush of Mac enthusiasts will visit the store during its first few days of operation. Apple bills the site as its biggest store yet, too.
Apple Store SoHo has a huge lineup of guest speakers already: The Web site already details a comprehensive lineup of presentations that will be given by Apple luminaries and other folks in the Mac business throughout July and August. “Made on a Mac” and “Meet the Expert” sessions are joined by various training presentations in the store’s Apple Theater along with presentations on how to use popular Macintosh software and hardware. Representatives from Microsoft, Adobe, Quark, Corel, DiamondSoft, MYOB, Extensis and other companies will be on hand throughout the month, providing information about how their products work on the Mac platform in tutorials spread out several times during the day.
The store itself is located at the northeast corner of Prince Street and Greene Street — the address is 103 Prince Street. For more details, including directions by subway, visit the Apple retail store Web site.
