Code Line is updating its Art Directors Toolkit (ADT), which incorporates several utilities for graphic designers and creative professionals. Available for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, one of the new features is a “Swatches” utility.
It provides a way for artists to find color swatches based on color information. Traditionally, artists would have to sift through over 1,000 color swatches in some cases, to find the one swatch they needed, according to Matheau Dakoske, president of Code Line Communications. Now, if you’re looking for, say, red, only red-based swatches will appear. The Swatches utility currently supports Pantone Matching Systems Color libraries for coated, uncoated paper stocks, HTML Colors, and Websafe Colors libraries.
ADT also now provides a screen ruler that allows for on-screen measuring of layouts and/or images and additional font information. Version 3 of Art Directors Toolkit is distributed online. For more information or to download a 15-use demo version, go to the Web site.
The cost is US$39.95. Registered users of Art Directors Toolkit 1.x-2.x can purchase an upgrade for $19.95.
