Symantec updates Norton Utilities

Symantec has released an update to Norton Utilities for Macintosh 7.0.

Users of Norton Utilities for Macintosh 7.0 and Norton SystemWorks for Macintosh 2.0 can now download, via Symantec’s LiveUpdate and free-of-charge, a version of Speed Disk that will run native on Mac OS X. According to the folks at Symantec, this compatibility now provides users with the ability to:

Install and run Speed Disk natively on Mac OS X. Users can now defragment files on the Mac OS X boot drive and optimize non-boot drives from within Mac OS X.

Create and edit Speed Disk profiles in Mac OS X with Speed Disk Profile Editor.

Optimize iPods with Speed Disk Profile.

Utilize UnErase to recover files up to 2GB in size.
