German software house HOB has updated HOBLink JWT, which lets Mac users work with Windows applications running centrally on a Windows 2000 Server or Windows XP Professional server, according to Macworld UK. The product will be showcased at next week’s Macworld Conference & Expo in New York.
This version introduces Mac OS X support, and provides full flexibility in printing from Windows applications running on Windows 2000 Terminal Servers from any Mac OS platform, according to Macworld UK. It permits multi-user and multi-platform access to centralized Windows applications and been designed specifically for the Mac audience. HOB reps say it opens the door to getting Macs onto corporate networks, networking experts claim.
New printing functions such as EasyPrint, which has been added to the product, lets Macintosh users work and print from software held on a Windows Terminal Server, according to Macworld UK. What’s more, HOBLink JWT now offers users several methods of client printing, including network print via Terminal Server, IP-print on any printer with an IP-address over a LAN, and local print via USB. Pricing hasn’t been announced.
