Oxford, England-based Softpress has announced the release of a new update to Freeway, its graphical Web design application. Freeway 3.5.5 is available for free to registered Freeway 3.x users.
Freeway 3.5.5 sports enhanced overall performance, according to the developer. Additionally, drag and drop from digital asset management tools like iTunes and iPhoto is now supported. Photoshop transparency import is improved, as is styled text and Rich Text Format (RTF) import.
This new version of Freeway also features better handling of TrueType and Type-1 fonts, as well as Flash MX files. Non-roman script support has been augmented with enhanced ATSUI integration, and file sizes are smaller. Support for importing Illustrator files has also been extended.
Freeway 3.5.5 has faster FTP upload capabilities, enhanced drag and drop, and interface enhancements and other improvements to extend Mac OS X interoperability. It supports Mac OS 8.6 or higher, supports Photoshop 7 file format, and is fully compatible with the latest browser releases, according to Softpress.
Localized in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and English, Freeway 3.5.5 costs £165 excluding VAT. Competitive upgrades are offered and discounts are available for educational institutions and companies interested in multiuser site licenses.
