Contour A/V Solutions, Inc. today announced a new audio and video controller targeted specifically at companies interested in bundling in a compact, easy to use shuttle and jog controller with their audio or video applications. It’s called the Space Shuttle.
The Space Shuttle features the exact same core jog and shuttle technology as what’s used in Contour’s popular ShuttlePRO, according to Contour A/V Solutions president and CEO Rick Muldoon, who spoke to MacCentral this morning.
“It looks like a small flying saucer,” Muldoon said. He added that the company can work with any software developer who wants to bundle the SpaceShuttle with their applications to make the interface itself.
The SpaceShuttle features five buttons and a jog and shuttle controller that can be assigned to do tasks like play, stop, rewind, fast forward, volume control, and more. It can also be used as a universal device for scrolling and gaming, according to the company.
The SpaceShuttle works with Mac OS 8.6 or later, including Mac OS X 10.1 or higher. It will be available for OEMs beginning in August.
