Most people think that I’m a Mac nut (and they’re right), especially when they see my home office wallpapered with “Think Different” posters. But I do nothing to promote the Mac cause compared to my MacCentral compadre, Peter Cohen, who always gets an Apple inspired haircut-dye job in conjunction with each Macworld expo held in the U.S.
In fact, I dare say that his is the most photographed noggin at these twice-yearly events. And now Peter — or at least his dome — is featured in a Wired article. Peter got his first customized hair job four years ago while covering the E3 gaming convention in Los Angeles for MacCentral. Peter got Apple’s corporate logo dyed and styled onto his head, starting a tradition that continues to this day.
“It’s what I’m known for,” he told Wired. “I just show my loyalty to Apple in a different way than most people do. It’s fun being a celebrity for a little while, as freakish as it may be.”
Read the article and you’ll learn about Peter’s preparations for the striking ‘do, as well as hear the classic story about the German with limited English who asked him, “May I take a picture of your backside?” You can also see several photos of Peter’s festive follicle jobs. And you can find out about his next step: a pair of tattoos.
“The first will be my wife’s name,” Cohen said. “The second will be Apple. These are my two loves.”
