Emagic today released an update to Logic Platinum, which includes myriad new features. The update is available for Macintosh and Windows users from eMagic’s Web site.
According to eMagic Logic Platinum 5.2 offers users additional audio routing possibilities through auxiliary channels, more audio tracks, inserts, sends and busses; improved track mixer, optimizations within the automation and further detailed changes. The new Logic version also provides owners of Emagic audio instruments and the Logic Control with several new features and optimizations.
The update is free to all registered users of Logic Platinum 5.0. Emagic’s Logic Web site currently lists Mac system requirements for the product line as Mac OS 9.1 or higher with Mac OS X support under development.
Apple acquired Emagic on July 1, 2002 and said Emagic’s Windows-based product offerings will be discontinued on September 30, 2002. Over 200,000 musicians around the world actively use Logic, according to Apple.
Apple is offering Emagic’s Windows users of Logic Audio 5, Gold 5 or Platinum 5 the opportunity to cross-grade to the Macintosh version free. The promotion runs from August 1, 2002 until December 31, 2002.
