Berlin, Germany-based mobile data solutions developer nova media Volker Kohl Network Services today announced the release of Mobile High Speed for Mac OS 2.2.1, a new version of the company’s “GPRS wizard” that enables you to set up an Internet connection with a mobile phone or GSM modem.
The software now includes settings for GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) for more than 120 different networks spread across 44 countries. GSM and GPRS are two widely-deployed wireless communications standards. Nova media said that the new version now supports users in North America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, eastern and western Europe and the Middle East.
With the wizard, you don’t need to look for modem scripts, APN number, DNS or GPRS settings — the software handles everything for you. It works via Bluetooth, USB, Infrared or PC card modem connections, and supports Mac OS 9.2 or higher, as well Mac OS X 10.1.5 and later — including Jaguar.
Mobile High Speed for Mac OS is available from the nova media Web site for €99.95. Existing owners can upgrade to the latest version for free.
