Research Triangle Park, NC-based Elemental Audio Systems has announced a trio of new VST-compatible plug-ins aimed at musicians and audio engineers. What’s more, all three of the new plug-ins work in both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.
Firium is a paragraphic equalizer and a drawing program together in one — the only linear phase equalizer that lets users draw their entire EQ curve freehand, according to the developers. You can activate a coupling feature to create smooth and more traditional EQ curves if you want, and move through a History slider to find how different EQ settings affect your audio.
Firium regularly retails for US$129. It’s available now for $99 and for $129 bundled with Elemental’s Eqium (a $169 value).
Eqium, meanwhile, is an unlimited bands software equalizer that enables users to create bands and filters “on-the-fly” as needed, without having to limit your settings to a predetermined number of bands. Filter selects range from traditional high/low shelf to harmonic parametric and steep notch — a total of 11 types are available. You can use sliders, arrows or drag directly on the filter graph.
Eqium costs US$99, regularly $129 alone. And as noted above, it’s available now for $129 when bundled with Firium.
The third in newcomer Elemental’s hat-trick of debut products is Inspector, an analysis plug-in that uses a unique Alarm feature to alert you of adverse conditions that exist in your audio. It’s free for a limited time.
Inspector integrates spectral analysis and metering capabilities, and offers real-time numeric readouts. When the thresholds you specify are crossed, the Master Alarm is triggered.
All the plug-ins work on Mac OS 9 or X, require a VST-compatible host application, and need a PowerPC G3 or faster-equipped Mac. More details, demos, downloads and info are available from the Elemental Audio Systems Web site.
