As expected, Apple has posted iPod Software Updater 1.2 tonight to its Web site.
The updated iPod software includes support for Audible.com so users can download and listen to novels on their iPods. In addition, the update adds support for iTunes 3 Sound Check, which automatically adjusts the volume between different songs for more consistent listening.
With the update, your iPod will allow you browse your music by Genre and Composers in addition to Artists, Albums and Song titles.
Although it’s not available yet, you will be able to transfer your calendar from iCal to your iPod. According to Apple, there’s even an alarm that you can set to remind you about upcoming meetings and events.
