London, UK-based Easypress Technologies has announced an upgrade to its flagship content management system, Easypress 2.6. Provided on an Application Service Provider (ASP) basis, the new version now sports three additional modules for publishers including personalized e-mailing, syndication and online subscription renewals. Easypress 2.6 has also features increased performance, robustness and scalability, according to the developer.
Easypress is a Web-based content management system developed to enable non-technical staff to create, manage and publish online content. Since it’s ASP-based, there’s no hardware or software for Easypress licensees to install or maintain. The developer already counts more than 50 Web publishing sites in the UK as customers. Easypress works with Windows or Mac-based clients connected to the Internet with Internet Explorer 5 or higher, or Netscape Navigator 6 or higher.
Easypress director of product strategy Nick Reed said that the new version helps reduce publishing cost and increases revenue opportunities. “When you combine this with the architecture improvements, we believe Easypress 2.6 provides a mature, fully featured and cost-effective content management solution for publishers,” he said.
The new e-casting module automates and customizes distribution of any Easypress content via e-mail. E-mail can be sent in plain text or HTML format as the user specifies. You can also schedule distribution or send it immediately. The software also has reporting tools that allow you to monitor the progress and success of your e-casts, and manage data cleaning of distribution lists.
Automated XML-based content syndication is also provided. You can customize content channels through the creation of multiple syndication relationships, so recipients receive content in an automated process. Users can also specify the frequency of content updates to the syndication partner.
Based on the new e-casting capabilities in Easypress 2.6, the subscriptions module enables subscribers to renew subscriptions online. Customized renewal e-mails can be sent, and personalized Web forms can be developed as well. The module also integrates with fulfillment systems.
As far as Easypress 2.6’s new architecture is concerned, the content management system is now based on the Zeus Web Server, which results in better speed, more reliability and load management capabilities.
Easypress 2.6 is available from Easypress Technologies now. Licensing fees start at “around £20,000,” according to the company, but will vary significantly according to the scale and scope of the site.
