Kodak has added two new members to its EasyShare digital camera family: the DX4330 and the CX4200. Both are Mac compatible.
The 3.1 megapixel DX4330 is the first camera to debut Kodak’s new 1.8-inch Indoor/Outdoor LCD display that the company promises offers “effortless viewing” even in bright sunlight. The camera boasts a 10X zoom with a Kodak Retinar aspheric all-glass 3X optical zoom lens, producing prints up to 11 by 14 inches. The DX4330, due early next month at a suggested retail price of US$349.95, has a dial designed to offer fast access to various scene modes such as close-up, landscape, sport, night or fully automatic. Other features include continuous capture of video and sound (limited only by the size of the memory card).
The CX4200, due late this month at a suggested retail price of $179.95, offers 2.0 megapixel with 2X digital zoom, which is fine for prints up to 8 by 10 inches. Both models make sharing pictures one-touch easy with the recently-introduced on-camera “share” button, which allows users to tag pictures for easy printing, e-mailing or as favorites right on the camera’s LCD display, according to said Pierre Schaeffer, chief marketing officer and vice president of Kodak’s Digital & Applied Imaging division.
Both cameras offer an automatic picture rotation feature that ensures that pictures always appear right side up on the camera, your Mac, or TV, he added. In addition, the cameras ensure that users will not miss the shot because they are always ready to snap a picture even when the camera is not in the capture mode. The DX4330 and the CX4200 come with 16 MB of internal memory; you can expand this capacity with MultiMediaCard or Secure Digital memory cards via the cameras’ expansion slot.
