Chaotic Software has updated MP3 Rage to version 5.2, which fixes a compatibility issue with Mac OS 9.
MP3 Rage 5.2 adds a new Statistics window, which displays information about a batch of MP3 files, such as total files with/without tags, number of unique artists, albums, etc. There’s also now support for viewing and changing Composer information in MP3 files in the QuickEdit tool window; batch changing Composer and Involved People information in the Tag Changer tool window; and reading AIFF files with ID3 tags embedded by iTunes (changing these tags isn’t supported).
The update also improves the appearance of drag & drop to Aqua striped windows and uses better font for file/tag information for the currently playing file in the player window, according to the folks at Chaotic.
MP3 Rage is available immediately for a suggested retail price of US$24.95. This update is free for users of version 5.0 or later. Users of MP3 Rage prior to version 5.0 can upgrade for $10. A 15-day free trial is available for download from Chaotic Software’s Web site.
