REAL Software, makers of the REALbasic programming environment, have announced the winners of its Cubies awards. The annual awards “recognize the contributions [REAL Software] users have made to the industry by promoting the excellence of what they have produced with REALbasic.”
The entries themselves are judged on quality, fitness to the task, polish, verve and brio. Winners get two free upgrades to REALbasic Pro Edition.
Erick Tejkowski was recognized as “Advocate of the Year” this year — the person who has done the most for the REALbasic community. The Best business tool went to Intelli Innovations, Inc. for Barcode Producer; Quick Pallet Maker 2 from SCA Mecanica got best Cross-Platform Application; Electric Butterfly’s UniHelp was voted REALbasic development aid; You are Go!’s A-OK! The Wings of Mercury got the nod for best Education Software.
Best Enterprise software went to Trizen Systems for Visual 3270, and best Internet tool went to AthenaIRC from ChiperSoft Systems. Best application for Mac OS X was given to MediaEdit from Mien Software; best multimedia application was Baytex Party! by Baytex. Last but not least, PrefsOverload from Zik’s Software and Passenger by MacInMind Software tiled for best utility application.
