Haxial Software has announced the release of RemoteAdminTool, or RAT. The software enables you to remotely control a computer. Haxial suggested that it’s particularly handy for servers since you can administer it even if you’re not physically connected to it.
Using RAT, you can see a list of processing running on the remote computer; exit, terminate or restart them; launch programs; view the display of the remote system; see how much free space there is; empty the trash; restart or shut down; or view uptime.
RAT’s communications are encrypted, as well. And it’s also cross platform — so you can use a Mac to control a Windows PC, or a Windows PC to control a Mac. It requires Mac OS 9 with CarbonLib 1.3.1 or higher, or Mac OS X (or Windows 95 or better).
