Planar Systems Inc. has released two new flat-panel displays in 19 and 20.1-inch sizes. The new displays join the company’s PL line. Both monitors have thin bezels and include analog and digital inputs. They also feature 25ms response times and wide viewing angles.
Planar also offers Video-EX, an optional accessory that enables the screens to accept input from a TV tuner or S-Video source, allowing the monitors to be used as LCD TV screens, video camera playback monitors, or displays for game consoles or DVD players. They’re available in either white or black and feature integrated stereo speakers.
The 19-inch display features SXGA (1280 x 1024 pixel) resolution and has a USB hub as well. It has a 500:1 contrast ratio and 160-degree viewing angles both horizontal and vertical. It’s priced at US$950.
The 20.1-inch display utilizes UXGA (1600 x 1200 pixel) native resolution and a 170-degree viewing angle. It runs $1,495.
All Planar desktop displays come with a three-year warranty that includes free, 48-hour advance product replacement, as well.
