Bare Bones Software, the folks behind such products as BBEdit and Mailsmith, have updated their US$20 Super Get Info file and folder utility for Mac OS X to version 1.0.9. The update adds additional functionality and compatibility with Mac OS X 10.2 (“Jaguar”).
The update includes a “Reveal in Finder” menu item and provides the ability to configure a keystroke to invoke the “Empty Trash” command. Super Get Info lets you open a separate information window for each selected Finder item, so that multiple selected items can be viewed and edited as you wish. It also lets you view and edit the Mac OS type and creator codes for a given file; view and edit the Unix owner, group, and permission settings for any file or folder; and change a file’s creation and modification dates.
Super Get Info requires Mac OS X 10.1 or later, and won’t run on any earlier version of the Mac operating system. A fully functional demo version, which expires after 14 days, is available for download. The version 1.0.9 update is free to all registered users of Super Get Info via an update package.
